Doux Rêve | Hello folks, So I've read in an old thread someone said that the Davison chart shows the "internal" side of a relationship, while the Composite Midpoint chart shows the relationship PERCEIVED by others. It's a bit like say, Davison is the sun chart, whereas Composite Mdpoint is the ascendant chart of a relationship. Personally I find this theory quite accurate.
For example, say you have Venus in 12th in the Composite Midpoint but Venus in 5th in Davison... that would mean that the relationship is a romantic one (5th) but hidden, clandestine (12th). What do you think??

Ami Anne | Fascinating. I will try to look at charts and see if I can add anything . ------------------ If you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will forgive you But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Doux Rêve | Thank you Ami |
Coffee | Utter rubbish. If there was a heckle and booooo button, I would press it. Does anyone think about this deeply for themselves or do they just take it as the word? UTTER RUBBISH! |
Doux Rêve | Coffee can you explain, please?? I've never understood the difference between Midpoint Method and Davison... |
Lioness | Im interested in more info about Davidson charts, what each planet represensts. I have read the Composite is the energy within the relationship, also how the relationship is viewed by other people.. I have read (not sure) that the Davidson is the purpose of the relationship.. The Sun being purpose and the moon being the emotions behind it.. I have not clue what a corrected davison and an uncorrected one is.. IDK what the difference is, or whats corrected. I checked the Davison with me and Pisces. Funny we have a Composite Venus in H12 but in the Davison we have it in H5 (as used in the example) It is secret, but not romantic.. But then pluto conjuncts Venus so its intense as heck
Well we have a Davison kite.. With it pointing to an aries moon in H11 = emotions... Moon opps Pluto and Venus I cant speak for him, but I do know I had to face my emotions and just FEEL... Its hard to explain.. Davison Sun is conjunct NN and Dsc.. I guess its time for us to get an ego check on how we relate to other people... Also how we are with each other.. Because our egos definately play a big part here, plus when one of us upsets the other, the other one takes off.. But then (at least me) boy do I feel it... lol |

Doux Rêve | Can anyone please explain, for Heaven's sake, what IS the difference when INTERPRETING the Composite Midpoint chart and the Davison chart? Come on somebody got to know the answer. |
staborgi | I posted a topic about this a little while ago and a few people seemed to agree with what I've been thinking lately. lemme know if it makes sense to you...after looking at a bunch of old ones and those of older couples too I've been thinking the Davison is what HAPPENS in the relationship- the kind of bottom line, circumstances you guys deal with. This makes sense to me especially because the Davison unlike the midpoint takes into consideration the physical location at birth of the people involved. So to me it has a much more real world, real life manifestation. My favorite example of this is my parents who were one of those "love at first sight" stories- really passionate- had to meet in secret for a long time because of their families' disapproval and they have a Davison Venus/Mars conjunction in the 12th. This is why while I don't see a Venus/Uranus or Venus/Saturn in a midpoint spelling the END of a relationship, I do think such an aspect in the Davison would be indicative of such circumstances. At least that seems to hold true from my experience. The midpoint on the other hand seems to me to be the energy of the relationship. I know a lot of people say its how others perceive you guys as a couple and I guess this is a good way to "visualize" it's meaning but I think primarily it's about the energy that's created by the two of you when you come together. Synastry is the exchange and the midpoint is like your little relationship baby you guys have together! lol at least that's how I've come to think of it |
cappy1277 | I always find the davison is an accurate depiction of how we relate together in the relationship too. When I was looking at the composite chart it always left me a little puzzled with the top heavy action. Sun & mercury in 10th, venus & mars in 11th, and moon & jupiter in 12th but uranus is in both 7th houses and saturn is in both 4th houses. We are both no means a public couple, we typically are homebodies when we are together. Stay in, watch movies, talk & talk (mercury in 3rd house davison) Venus is in 5th house davison & it gets romantic @ times & we enjoy each other's company. Jupiter is in the 1st house davison along with mars. Composite & davison are very very contradictory for us. |
Doux Rêve | staborgi, THANK YOU. Finally some sense. I get to see it more clearly now. Phew. |

thank you, that was useful to me. |
Yrone | I am not very maths savy, so my question might appear silly, but it is quite normal that the planets and points are just swapping position from the two source horoscopes yes? |
Coffee | Can anyone explain to me how you get a chart with a midpoint between two places on earth? The davidson chart is invalid. Stop using it. |
staborgi | Locations have longitudes and latitudes...you can calculate the midpoint location based on this |
Coffee | Or you can just use the composite. We study planets, not dates. |
Quinnie | Doux Rêve, I can relate to that theory yes...From my experience that would make sense....and I thought along those lines before...that by combining the two gave more insight. I would go with your theory. |
Doux Rêve | I guess we all just use what works best for us. Thanks for the replies everyone. |
